SPX supports training initiatives tied to the Department of Homeland Security’s National Training and Education Division (NTED), helping support state, local, tribal, and territorial first responders across the United States and its territories. Our work focuses on translating evolving national threats, domestic terrorism, and specialized response expertise into training programs that support national preparedness and operational readiness.

New Mexico Tech, Energetic Materials Research and Training Center
Through New Mexico Tech’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC), SPX has supported first responder training related to explosives, bombing prevention and response, homemade explosive recognition, and emerging threats. Our work includes curriculum development, field laboratory incident recreations, immersive learning environments, and support for virtual and scenario-based training implementation.

Counterterrorism Operations Support
Through radiological and nuclear response training programs, SPX has helped support emergency responders, law enforcement, and hazardous materials teams operating in high-consequence environments.
